Bulgogi – Korea’s Favourite BBQ Beef (or Mushroom)

One of Korea’s most loved dishes. Sweet, savoury, and full of umami. Traditionally made with beef, but easily adapted for vegans using mushrooms. 

Serves: 2–3 
Cooking Time: 10–12 mins 

Ingredients: 

  • 300g thin beef slices (or 150g shiitake + 100g enoki mushrooms)

  • 1 onion, sliced

  • 1/4 carrot julienned
  • A few spring onions, chopped

  • A handful of mushrooms (optional, for extra flavour)
  •  

    4 tbsp Mama Kim’s Korean Master Sauce
    • Sesame seeds for garnish
       

    Instructions: 

    1. Marinate beef or mushrooms with sauce for at least 30 mins.

    1. Mix with the vegetables until well combined.

    1. Stir-fry over high heat until browned.

    1. Garnish with spring onion and seasme seeds.
       

    Serve with: steamed rice, lettuce wraps, or BBQ sides.
